Polyurethane rigid foam is a high-molecular polymer made from isocyanate and polyether as the main raw materials. Under the action of various additives such as foaming agents, catalysts and flame retardants, it is mixed through special equipment and then foamed on site by high-pressure spraying. Polyurethane foam is divided into two types: soft foam and hard foam. Soft foam has an open-cell structure, while hard foam has a closed-cell structure. Soft foam can be further classified into two types: those with a skin and those without.
The main function of polyurethane soft foam is buffering. Polyurethane soft foam is often used in sofa furniture, pillows, cushions, toys, clothing and soundproof linings.
Polyurethane rigid foam is a new type of synthetic material with both thermal insulation and waterproofing functions. It has a low thermal conductivity of only 0.022 to 0.033W/ (m · K), which is half that of extruded polystyrene board and has the lowest thermal conductivity among all insulation materials. Rigid polyurethane foam plastic is mainly applied in exterior wall insulation of buildings, integrated waterproofing and insulation of roofs, insulation and heat preservation of cold storage, insulation materials for pipelines, building panels, insulation materials for refrigerated trucks and cold storage, etc. [1]
